Aberdeen Tyre Fitting & Replacement

How often should you replace car tyres?

Generally, car tyres come with a service life of up to 20,000 to 40,000 miles. However, you might have to opt for tyre replacement sooner than you anticipated due to premature tread wear – caused by stop-start city driving, poor wheel alignment, and improper tyre pressure.

Some factors that contribute to damaged or worn tyres are:

* Number of miles driven
* The load carried by a vehicle
* Frequency of sudden braking and acceleration
* Quality and tread depth of the tyres

Did you know? The legal minimum tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, but performance degrades significantly below 3mm

Signs of tyre problems

Vibrations through the steering wheel: If you feel unusual shuddering or vibrations while driving around Aberdeen, your wheels may be out of balance. We recommend driving down to our facility immediately for professional rebalancing and wheel checks.

The vehicle drifts directionally: Another common symptom of uneven tyre wear is that your car veers to one side on straight roads. Additionally, incorrect tyre pressure can increase fuel consumption and reduce overall road grip.

Cracks, bulges, or low tread depth: Visible sidewall cracks, sidewall bulges, or worn treads severely compromise safety. Worn components cannot be safely repaired and should be replaced as soon as possible to avoid punctures or blowouts.
